Carter and Doug Cunningham will discuss and illustrate interview techniques that can be used for general inquiries or matters more serious in nature (employee wrongdoing, etc.).  This interactive presentation will include role play scenarios and case histories.

    The Debate on the Usefulness of Performance Appraisals

    Performance appraisals are a routine practice in many organizations; however, there is pronounced disagreement about their effectiveness for managing human resources. Dr. Stephen Wagner will examine the potential problems with performance appraisals, as well as challenges with eliminating performance appraisals. Research findings on tactics intended to improve the performance appraisal process will also be explored.
